NaNoWriMo 2022 -- Back to Business

I feel it's almost redundant to address the fact I haven't posted in a while (ahem...two full years and some change since the last one). I've thought about starting a YouTube channel instead to document progress, but it's honestly so much harder and more time-consuming than just creating entries here. So I'm making another goal to actually stick to the blog this time. We'll see how frequent blogging goes in the long run. I say I'm serious about sticking to it, but time may prove otherwise. Book 1 of the fantasy series is...still being written. I know, I know. I've had a really wonky past two years, in which I went through many periods of not writing a single word for months at a time. Sometimes it was just my lack of motivation, but most of it happened because I was planning to join a convent of Catholic nuns in Florida for a long time and my life was filled with relevant priorities. So, it's been a while...

It has been more than a hot minute since I last made a post here. It seems like my prediction that this side project would fade off of my radar was fairly accurate. I never posted anything past the first entry. Book writing is going very well. At the end of April, I (finally!!!) finished Draft 1 of the first book in the fantasy series. It's gone through quite a few name changes as of late and I can't seem to settle on one I like, but for now, I'm calling it 'Prophet in a Dry Land'. For the sake of simplicity, I'll refer to it as 'Book 1'.  The month of May was a refresh month for me, writing-wise. I took two weeks and didn't touch my story at all. Then I came back to the first draft and started reading it over. Granted, "first draft" is a really generous term, as much of it is a glorified outline. Once I'm finished with the re-read (which is taking so long because I have a bunch of other commitments in my life now), I am going to create...

A Flashback To The Beginning

I've never been one for blogs before. Following them. Starting them. Actually following through with posting once I've created them. It's a never-ending cycle of thinking I'll actually follow through with something like this and then deciding to drop it the second something more interesting comes along. We'll see if this whole blog thing will be part of the exception or the rule. To start off, hello dear reader! My name is Nichol Catherine and I have been an aspiring writer hobbyist since June 17, 2019.
